    What are the eligibility requirements?

    To apply for the Opportunity Card, you must meet both basic requirements and score at least 6 points under a points-based system.

    Basic Requirements (All must be met)

    • Nationality: Must be a non-EU national
    • Age: Between 18 and 45 years old
    • Qualification: Completed at least 2 years of vocational training or a university degree
    • Language Proficiency: German A1 level (optional) or English B2 level (optional)
    • Financial Stability: Proof of sufficient funds to live in Germany during the job search.

    Points-Based System (Minimum 6 Points Needed)

    Points are awarded for education, experience, language skills, age, and ties to Germany.

    • Fully recognized qualification in Germany – 4 (points)
    • Partial recognition of qualification – 2 (points)
    • 5+ years of professional experience – 3 (points)
    • 2–5 years of experience – 2 (points)
    • German language proficiency (B2 or higher) – 3 (points)
    • German language proficiency (B1) – 2 (points)
    • English language proficiency (C1) – 1 (points)
    • Age under 35 – 2 (points)
    • Age 35–40 – 1 (points)
    • Previous stay in Germany (e.g., studies, work) – 1-2 (points)
    • Accompanying partner who also qualifies – 2 (points)

    Valid Passport

    • Must be valid for the entire duration of your intended stay

    Completed Visa Application Form
